Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) is Minnesota's Medicaid benefit for children and young teens with autism and related conditions. If your child is enrolled in Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, UCare, or Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, EIDBI may cover the full cost of therapy.

    Who qualifies for EIDBI

    Children under age 21 who:

    • Have an autism spectrum diagnosis or a related condition
    • Are enrolled in Medical Assistance or a participating plan
    • Have a Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation (CMDE) documenting medical necessity

    What EIDBI covers

EIDBI is broader than traditional ABA. Covered services include individualized treatment from a BCBA-led team, speech and occupational therapy support, parent and family training, and care coordination with schools and pediatricians.
